CCNetwork holds a career workshop for students selected for her scholarship: Full Report

A 4-hour workshop was held on Sunday, 18th April 2021 for the 19 selected students for the scholarship program.

The workshop started exactly by 2:05pm with an opening prayer from Ms. Bamidele Barakat and an opening remark from the Chairman, Mr Dauda Taoheed. The opening remark centered on appreciating the governing council of CCN, members of the Scholarship commitee and the whole CCN volunteers and donors. He further congratulated the students on their selection, informed them of the benefits attached  and persuaded them to make best use of this opportunity.

The career talk 1 was delivered by Mr Bakare Afis and it majored on pre-admission and post-admission processes. Some of the major takeaways from this session include, but not limited to:
∆. Making the right choice of institutions and courses of study.
∆. Understanding the O’level requirements and making the right choice of subjects combination in UTME
∆. Calculating the % marks for  UTME, SSCE and post UTME screening, if applicable
∆. Understanding the JAMB CAPS platform.

The career talk 2 was delivered Mr Sodiq Abdulazeez, on behalf of Mr. Waliyullah Olayiwola and it majored on enlightening the students on Tertiary Education in its entirety. Some of the major takeaways from this session include,but not limited to:
∆. Understanding the peculiarities of the various higher institutions of learning.
∆. Demystifying some myths about tertiary education.
∆. Tips on getting prepared for tertiary education.
∆. Scaling through the hurdles of tertiary education.

Ms Khadijat Oparemi gave closing remarks and the workshop was brought to an end at exactly 6:09pm.
